IDOU Brand Story (I Love Denzel & Ouida)

The IDOU story begins with our founder, Juliet, a woman in her mid-thirties who knew what mattered most to her - her career, loved ones, and time spent outdoors. Several years ago, Juliet and her husband Denzel were on a bike ride, wearing reflective vests from the company Juliet worked for at the time. Unexpectedly, Denzel was injured, and after investigating, they discovered the reflective vest provided no actual reflective ability when the wearer was bent over.

This unfortunate incident prompted Juliet to research the quality of reflective gear on the market. To her dismay, she found that many brands were selling ineffective products that compromised their customers' safety. Many failed to provide an inclusive size range, and if they did, the sizing was misleading and not true to size. Others omitted essential features to save costs and expedite production.

Determined to avoid future accidents, Juliet specially designed a reflective vest for Denzel. However, as her daughter Ouida grew, Juliet's concern for her safety led her to begin developing safety gear for Ouida as well. Caring for her loved ones inspired Juliet to extend her talents and passion for safety, with the goal of creating something that would benefit everyone. This marked the beginning of IDOU.
